Catholic Charities of Central Florida provides a multitude of assistance in many areas such as providing hunger relief , access to medical and Health education as well as provide shelter to the less fortunate.
CC/CF also assists refugees who escape tragedy, violence and war to begin a new life in the U.S. through: housing and basic necessities, youth services, cultural orientation and employment assistance. They provide various services targeted to the specific needs of the Central Florida immigrant community to ensure, and promote justice, compassion and acceptance for all newcomers.
What IMO will be doing:
September 23, 2016: Pantry Collections
As volunteers we will help sort, pack, stock and distribute food to the families that are staying in the temporary housing CC/FL has provided as well as to the refugee families.
September 30, 2016: Apartment Set Up
Volunteers work with the Resettlement team to help prepare apartments for newly arrived refugee families. To help provide refugee families with all the basic necessities in their apartment including furniture, bathroom essentials like towels, and kitchen essentials like pots, dishes, and silverware.
